The Truth about Adverse Childhood Experiences: Our Role in Responding to Child Abuse
Young children are in many ways defenseless and require adult protection and nurturing. Adverse childhood experiences create a high risk of negative outcomes later in life. Learn about these risks and how to address child abuse and maltreatment when we suspect it. Discuss OCFS statutes and regulations related to child abuse as well as how we can respond to and prevent child abuse so as to assure the safety of children in our care. A review of Shaken Baby Syndrome will also be included.
